E. Cody Sametshaw
Mr. Sametshaw became an associate at Cardaro & Peek, LLC in February 2016. Before joining Cardaro & Peek, Mr. Sametshaw worked as a Student Attorney in the Carey School of Law’s Community Economic Development Legal Clinic; as a Legislative Intern in the D.C. office of Senator Barbara Mikulski; and as a Law Clerk in the Maryland Attorney General’s Office. Mr. Sametshaw is a Fellow in the Maryland State Bar Association's Leadership Academy. Mr. Sametshaw also volunteers his time helping to promote environmental quality and community development efforts in Northwest Baltimore.
Mr. Sametshaw graduated from the University of Maryland Carey School of Law in 2014. At Carey Law, Mr. Sametshaw served as Notes & Comments Editor of the Journal of Race, Religion, Gender & Class, and earned academic distinction as the highest performing student in multiple legal seminars.
Prior to law school, Mr. Sametshaw was a member of the faculty at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida, where he taught American Government and International Relations. Mr. Sametshaw earned both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Florida. As an undergraduate, Mr. Sametshaw was a recipient of the Florida International Center Scholarship in 2005, enabling him to study abroad in Salzburg, Austria, and the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship from 2003 to 2007.
