Attorney John Varney 

John Varney joined Cardaro & Peek in 2024 and focuses his practice on fighting for the rights of patients in medical malpractice claims, as well as representing clients in personal injury and product liability matters.

Mr. Varney brings extensive experience from the biotechnology industry. Prior to joining, he served as in-house counsel for a biotech company, managing the prosecution of patent infringement by some of the largest laboratories in the life science industry. Additionally, Mr. Varney served as the Director of Laboratory Operations where he supervised the development and implementation of novel non-invasive, prenatal genetic diagnostic tests. His research has been published in top medical journals including The New England Journal of Medicine and The Lancet.

Mr. Varney graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law and was inducted into The Order of Coif, a prestigious law school honor society focused on excellence in legal education. Mr. Varney also maintains an active pro bono practice, providing legal guidance to local Baltimore artists area seeking to protect their original works.
